Personal Room: Claim your desk with privacy controls

Personal rooms are like having your own desk in Cosmos—a dedicated space that you claim as your home base. Think of it as your assigned workstation in a physical office: teammates can find you there, see your availability, and know it's your spot. You can personalise it, control who can join you, and make it truly yours.

Belonging: Claim your spot and feel part of the team
Visibility: Teammates can see if you're at your desk (available) or away
Quick navigation: Return to your home base with one click from anywhere
Automatic spawning: Join Cosmos directly at your desk every time
Personalisation: Add customisations to make your desk feel like home

How to set up your personal room

1. Navigate to the meeting room you want to claim as your desk

2. Click Set Home in the bottom right toolbar

Once set, the room name will change to "[Your Name]'s Room" for everyone in your space.

Control who can join your room

Set room access to manage availability at your desk:

Open: Anyone can join your room and the call will start automatically. Perfect for collaboration hours when you're available for quick chats.
Knock Required: People need to knock before entering your room. You'll receive a notification and can accept or deny their entry request. Great for when you're working but open to interruptions.
DND (Do Not Disturb): No one can join your room. Ideal for focused work sessions or when you're unavailable.

To change your room access:

1. Go to your personal room

2. Click on the Room Settings icon

3. Select your preferred access level

Only members and admins can claim rooms in Cosmos spaces. One user can have one personal room at a time. Once a personal room is claimed, only that individual user or admin can reset that room.

How to return to your room

1. From anywhere in Cosmos, click Go Home in the bottom toolbar

2. You'll instantly teleport back to your personal room

Perfect for quickly returning to your desk after meetings or conversations.

How to change your personal room

1. Click Go Home in the bottom toolbar to navigate to your current room

2. Click the arrow next to Go Home

3. Select Reset Home

4. Navigate to your new preferred room

5. Click Set Home to claim it

Your new room will now display as "[Your Name]'s Room" for everyone in the space.
