How to set a custom status?

A custom status lets you add context to your availability, like what you're working on or when you'll be back. It shows next to your name in the User list.

How to set a custom status

  1. Click your profile in the bottom left corner.
  2. Click Set Custom Status.

  1. Pick a Status: Available, Listening, Focus or Away.
  2. Add a context under What are you up to? (e.g. "Designing or Coding").
  3. Set a Clear context after time to clear your context automatically.
  4. Click Set status.

Use a status preset

Presets are ready-made statuses set up for your whole space. Selecting one fills in the status, context and timer instantly.

  1. Open Set Custom Status from your profile.
  2. Under For [your space name], click a preset. The status, context and timer fill in automatically.

  1. Adjust if needed, then click Set status.

Create a preset (admins)

Admins can create up to 4 presets per space for everyone to use.

  1. Open Set Custom Status and click + Add preset status.

  1. Choose a Status and add a context under What's the context? (e.g. "Break").
  2. Set a Clear context after time.
  3. Click Save preset.

The preset now appears under For [your space name] for everyone to use.

Edit or delete a preset (admins)

  1. Open Set Custom Status and hover over the preset.
  2. Click the pencil icon.

  1. Edit the preset and click Save preset, or click Delete to remove it.

Note: Members can use and tweak presets for their own status, but only admins can create, edit or delete the presets themselves.
