Guest experience and limits

Who are Guests?

Guests are users who are not members of your space but can join meetings and discussions.

We want you to be able to collaborate with external people seamlessly. We also want the guests to be able to come visit you just as they would visit a space in real life.

All guests in a space have the GUEST  badge next to their name in the list of users.

Joining as a Guest:

Guests can join a Cosmos space without the need to sign up. They can access the space via any desktop browser, or through the Cosmos desktop app by pasting their invite link into the app's top bar.

Note: For mobile access, guests are required to download our mobile app for the best experience (available on both iOS and Android), where they join with just their name.

Guest limits:

There is no limit on the ratio of how many guests, members or admins can join the space. The Space Capacity means the number of people that can be online in the space simultaneously, irrespective of their role. Space capacity is determined by the number of user seats you are paying for.

Guest access:

What a guest can do depends on your space settings.

• Join your space either straight away or by knocking and waiting for a member to let them in, depending on how guests get in

  

• Enter either the whole space or only your guest areas, depending on where guests can go. Rooms outside your guest areas ask them to sign in, and only members get through

• Members see all private and public channels, plus all team members
• Guests see only public channels and the people currently online. Public channels are shared with your guest areas, so make a channel private if it should stay internal
