Turn on notifications

Cosmos understands the power of notifications while valuing your need for concentration. You have the freedom to select your preferred notification types and channels.

Notification Channels and Troubleshooting:


Desktop App:


Click on enable notifications and make sure your app has permissions in the system settings to start receiving the notifications.



Mobile App:


  • Download the Cosmos Mobile App from Play Store/App Store by searching for Cosmos Video

  • Log in to Cosmos and Select Allow when prompted for notifications


Web Browser:


Enable notifications from the Cosmos nudge notification:


  • Join a space and click on Enable notifications

  • A prompt will appear asking you to Allow notifications; click Allow

  • A new modal will open. To make sure your browser has the permission to show notifications, click on Display test notification

—If you received the notification, Great! Close the modal.

—If you didn’t, follow the steps shown on the modal to enable your browser notifications



Enable notifications from Cosmos settings:


  • Go to User preferences > Notifications > Enable Notifications

  • A prompt will appear asking you to Allow notifications; click Allow

  • Cosmos will send you a test notification.

—If you received the notification, click Yes, I did in the new pop-up modal

—If you didn’t, click on No and follow the steps shown on the modal to enable your browser notification


Slack:

Having your Cosmos connected to your Slack workspace is mandatory to start receiving the notifications.


Troubleshooting:

Follow these troubleshooting steps if you didn’t receive notification even after following all the steps above


Make sure your channels in Cosmos are enabled to receive the notifications:


To fix system-level windows settings:

  • Go to your Windows search bar for “Notifications & actions” and Open it

  • Check out the apps list and make sure your browser/slack/Cosmos app has all the notifications enabled

In case you have disabled the Desktop app notifications by mistake, follow this guide to reset the notifications and start receiving them again.
